Ruurlo Castle - Ruurlo
Ruurlo Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the Achterhoek, is already mentioned in a charter from 1326. The Roderlo family, from which the castle and the village probably derive their name, were the first residents. At the beginning of the 14th century, the house came into the possession of the Van Heeckeren family, who have owned the castle for more than five centuries. It then serves as a town hall, as a backdrop for the TV series 'De Zevensprong' until it was finally purchased as housing for the MORE museum, the museum for Modern Realism.
