Halfway up Kuiperberg, you can see between the beech trees the large house and studio where Ton Schulten worked and lived with his wife Ank for many years. It is an old sheepfold that the couple had completely rebuilt. They also had the surrounding rugged nature with fens and scrubland created. From here, the artist had a great view of the vast ash trees in the area that served as a model for many paintings. At the back is a narrow footpath over which the painter could walk to the Hezebergweg.
