De Keizershof is located in an idyllic spot in the Green Heart: at the end of a dead-end road in a primeval Dutch landscape, between a lake and a nature reserve. This 17th-century farmhouse used to be accessible only on foot or by boat. Taking the milk churns away was therefore quite a job. The alternative? Making butter and cheese yourself!
These days, farm butter, real churned milk, Gouda farm cheese and Boeren-Leidse met Sleutels are still made here in the traditional manner. Besides this delicious dairy, they also sell meat from the Blaarkop cattle.
