Farmer’s Cheese cycle route
Zoeterwoude, Leiden
Get to know the water-rich polder area located just outside Leiden. A typical Dutch landscape, where nature and biodiversity are stimulated thanks to the construction of flower ribbons. The colourful collection of flowers in the verges not only make the polders even more beautiful to see, but also a colourful paradise for bees, butterflies and other insects.
Along the route, you can learn more about the farms from the information panels along the way. Of course, you can visit a number of farms. Stop at the milk tap, for example, and taste the full flavour of fresh milk, or scavenge a tasty lunch in the farm shops.
Plenty of places to stop along the way and enjoy the local, artisanal produce. All while looking out over the vast landscape. Isn't that wonderful!
Want to visit the centre of Leiden? From junction 70, you can follow junction 11 to reach the city of Leiden. You then follow the route along the canal to the city centre. Junction 11 is located on Leiden's Singel.
