Old Dutch Cycle Route near Zoetermeer
Zoetermeer, Leiderdorp, Hazerswoude
Want to be surprised by the versatility of the Zuid-Holland landscape? Then look no further, hop on your bike and join us on a voyage of discovery through the Green Heart. You can park your car at the Prielenbos car park and start the route right there.
A stone's throw from the big cities and a whole number of smaller towns and villages, you cycle through the green, wide-open polder landscape that is also rich in water. You will be showered with Dutch views and picturesque villages, a good dose of windmills, farms and nature reserves. Cycle through the landscape that has had an agricultural function for so many years and imagine yourself in the past, then in the present.
We selected some Pit Stops to enjoy that typically Dutch feeling. Learn how the various mills all had their own function. Enjoy the artisanal products you can buy at the various farm shops and the beautiful nature you will find along the way. At the thrift shop you can look for Old Dutch treasures and in the food forest you can glimpse into the future, with all the plans that will be realised there.
A route to make you happy, with plenty of time left over to make the most of the Pit Stops. If you still haven't had enough of the Old Dutch atmosphere, book a canal cruise at 't Geertje, or rent a boat from one of the rental companies in Leiderdorp, to make your day out complete.
