Visitor centre De Hoep in Castricum is an ideal starting point for a cycle route through the Noordhollands Dune Reserve. The building is situated in the middle of nature. A visit to the centre teaches you everything about the Noord-Holland dunes and the purification of water. You will see how the dune landscape was created and how special it is with its animal species and unique trees and plants. The butterfly garden, water hole and bird-watching wall complete the picture. Take a treasure hunt through the garden with one of the backpacks available at the reception desk.
At De Hoep, they specialise in surrounding dunes: they will be happy to help you find the most beautiful spots in the dunes, such as the bird-watching hut and the water bell. Throughout the year, various activities and excursions are organised, including many for children.
