The heart cheese from Cheesefarm van Veen is unique! So unique, in fact, that it has been patented. The first hearts were made in the spring of 2002. The idea behind it? The love for the region: the Green Heart. They now make these kilo and pound cheeses almost daily and have expanded the range with a cheese in the shape of a tulip and a Zoeterwoude Wapenenkaas. And something else to be proud of: they are suppliers to the royal household. This predicate is only awarded to small enterprises that are prominent and at least 100 years old!
Cheesefarm van Veen offers guided tours for companies, family outings and schools. During the tours, you walk through the stables, talk about the cattle, cuddle the calves and cows, look out over the landscape, talk about grazing, the Weipoortse Vliet and the beautiful nature. In the cheese dairy you can taste the cheeses, they explain the centuries-old cheese making process and you finish with the educational film.
They provide coffee/tea/soft drinks, a simple or extensive farmer's lunch and various soups.
