This cycle route takes you into the old centre of Middelburg, where it is certainly worth stopping off. Through a landscape full of waterways, you arrive in Vlissingen, situated on the Westerschelde. The town is one of the seventeen protected townscapes in Zeeland and has more than 300 monuments. Cycle along the boulevard and look out over the beaches. Also take a look at the Vlissingen wind organ on the south pier. This organ consists of bamboo pipes. If the wind blows hard enough, it will sound through the organ as if a choir is singing. Vlissingen is a city with a rich maritime past.
