From this point in the southern part of the Loenermark, not too far from junction 32, you have a beautiful view over the heathland and the green Loenermark. The Loenermark lies on the Oost-Veluwse Stuwwal, which has a height varying between 40 and 85 metres above NAP.
The forest of the Loenermark is centuries old and full of beautiful old trees, eagle ferns and a wide variety of mushrooms. The heather of the Loenermark is grazed, which means that there is very little grass among the heather and that lichens, the great wolf's claw and the prickly broom have all the space they need to grow.
In this southern part of the Loenermark, Scottish Highlanders are responsible for grazing. As they eat away small saplings from the heathland, this is a nice place for the sand lizard and the adder, both of which like to enjoy the sun on the open plain. But also for insects and therefore birds and other animals like the badger, deer and wild boar.
