View tower Varsen - Ommen
Lookout tower 'Kansel' Varsen was built around a monumental oak tree at the place where the Regge and Vecht rivers have met for centuries. The design is based on a Kansel, an elevated place in the church from which a clergyman speaks. At this spot, the intention is to listen to the speaking landscape.
The project came about in 2021 on the initiative of Plaatselijk Belang Varsen. They are committed to the hamlet of Varsen. If you don't dare go up, you can also take a seat on the bench next to the tree.
Beware: after rain, the wooden steps can be slippery.
