In 1909, the sails were defeated, killing the miller's servant and son. In 1910 and 1976, the mill was restored. Because of an appraisal in 1849, a detailed description has survived, which is of great historical significance. The bell mill was built on top of a natural hill, De Molenberg, in the middle of the village. It is the tip of a river dune, a so-called donk. Grave mounds from the Iron Age (250 - 12 BC) and the Roman period have been found on Molenberg. A grave from both eras has been reconstructed on Molenberg. In recent years, the mill has again been grinding grain for human consumption on a professional basis. There is also a mill shop selling flour products. In 2007, the mill received new rods and in 2012 the complete woodwork of the windmill's windvane gear was renewed.
