Springertduinen (rabbit) - Ouddorp
When we think of rabbits, we don't have to think only of the dunes, but they are the best areas on Goeree for the well-known fur-bearing animal. During this cycle tour, we can find rabbits in the Middelduinen, the Springertduinen and the Westduinen, although there are nowhere near as many as there used to be. All sorts of nasty diseases have caused the numbers of the industrious gnawers to plummet over the years, so no one can offer you one hundred per cent certainty of a rabbit. They may need to get used to your presence, so stepping off for a while won't hurt. This will also allow you to take in the surroundings a little better than if you were to speed furiously along the dune path. It does invite that, let's be honest.
