Shortly after the Second World War, Vereniging De Hollandsche Molen made an attempt to acquire this unique waisted stone mill. However, miller Herman Pieper was not interested.
Herman Schepers, who was interested in cultural history, gave Pieper the idea of setting up a foundation that would bear his name, so that the mill would always be called Piepermolen (Pieper Mill). This foundation would then try to raise the funds to restore the mill. That is what eventually happened.
In 1970 and in 1994 the mill was restored. Currently, the mill is used to grind cattle fodder on a voluntary basis.
