Natuurpoort Vennenhorst in Someren is the starting point for all kinds of routes in the beautiful natural park De Heihorsten, with woods, heathland and several nice little pools, of which the Keelven is the largest. Here you will find different types of grazers such as horses, cows, sheep and Scottish Highlanders. This area is very popular among hikers and cyclists because of the many signposted walking and cycling routes.
For ATB enthusiasts, there are signposted mountain bike routes and for horse riders, the nature reserve is accessible via various bridle paths. Of particular note are the specially constructed paved Allemans routes that are passable for pushchairs, wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
The educational Nature Learning Path has resting points with picnic sets and beautiful viewpoints along the way. From Natuurpoort Vennenhorst, you can also reach the Strabrechtse Heide, a heath and fens area full of old and new secrets that reveal themselves to you as soon as you enter the walking or cycling paths.
