When art collectors Henk and Erna Plenter unintentionally bought a fake Matisse from master forger Geert Jan Jansen, they came up with the idea of investigating the art of forgery and even dedicated a museum to it.
Since then, the museum's collection consists of all kinds of artworks: fake and real, art or kitsch but always unique. During your visit, learn all about the techniques, materials and tricks used by, the otherwise punishable, forgers.
The museum receives donations in the form of art from visitors and auction houses and collaborates with team Art and Antiques of the National Police.
