Miramar Sea Museum - Vledder
The Miramar Maritime Museum in Vledder, Drenthe, is based on the collection of shells, sea creatures and other natural history objects collected by the eccentric Miss Warners during her travels through at least 80 countries in the 1950s.
The museum has a permanent collection, an exhibition on Miss Warners' unique life and a biennial changing exhibition.
In 2023, the exhibition Eye to eye with the whale will start. The highlight of the exhibition is the skeleton of a minke whale and an educational whale trail runs through the museum's garden.
Don't skip the museum shop either, where you can buy exotic specimens to take home.
