The tallest mill in the Province of Groningen is a corn mill that still produces flour. The flour is sold in the small shop at the bottom of the mill. On Saturdays, it is possible to see the inside of the mill.
After a period of decay, the mill resurrected to its former glory in 1963 thanks to the installation of a new axle and two new steel welded rods. The shaft used came from the Halle mill in Gelderland, which was decommissioned in 1955. On 14 November 1963, the mill was recommissioned and named Wilhelmina, named after the wife of the then miller and owner Van Wijngaarden.
On 14 June 1977, the municipality of Groningen took an important step to preserve the mill by purchasing it and transferring it to the Molenstichting Hunsingo & Omstreken on 20 September 1978. By mid-1981, the mill had been completely restored and was officially reopened on 18 September 1982.
