De Adriaan, a characteristic bell mill located in Meerveldhoven, a neighbourhood within Veldhoven, saw its first sails turn in 1906. Originally built as a corn mill at the request of the Van Grinsven family from Beek en Donk, the mill was transferred to the De Jongh family in 1935.
Although grain milling stopped in the 1980s, the lower part of De Adriaan remains a lively café. Despite the changed environment, the mill retains its milling capability and remains a valuable piece of mill heritage in the landscape of Meerveldhoven.
