At the end of the Molenweg there is a round stone ground sail from 1874 in the Monierepolder in the hamlet of Nieuwland. In the past, there must have been eight sawmills on the Nieuwlands Canal in this municipality. In 1800 the first local flour mill was blown over, a post mill from 1657, which was rebuilt again. The successor was a wooden octagonal ground sail that was located 300 m. Northeast of the current mill.
