Built in 1851 by order of G.S.A. Baronesse van Pabst, Douariere of W.H.A.C. Baron van Heeckeren van Kell, this mill was named after her daughter Freule Johanna Mauritia Agneta van Heeckeren van Kell. The mill was still owned by this family until 1956, after which it was taken over by other families. Since 2000, the mill and the attached sawmill have been owned by Molenmakerij Vaags & Groot Wesseldijk.

In its early years, the mill functioned as a peeling, oil and corn mill. During hulling, barley grains were stripped of their bark. We know this end product better as groats. Oil was beaten from crushed rapeseed or linseed. In 1917, the mill was converted into a saw and corn mill. The mill was last thoroughly restored in 2023.

There is often sawing with the mill on Saturdays by the volunteers of the Friends of the Mill Foundation ‘AGNETA’. If possible on wind power, otherwise with the help of the electric motor. Always fun to see how a substantial tree trunk, often longer than 10 metres, is sawn into a beam and/or planks.
In the film room, where you can sit quietly (and warm and dry) for a while, they show a film (about 20 minutes) explaining the whole process of sawing a log with the mill's sawing frame.

From the 10-metre-high scaffolding you have a great view over Ruurlo. And for younger visitors, there is also a scavenger hunt through the mill.

Visits are free of charge.
