The centre of the Roundabout on Burgemeester de Meesterstaat does not show just any planter or mundane artwork, but is itself transformed into a dashing sculpture. High blue waves of concrete carry a metal model of a botter that has set all its sails. This colourful work was installed in 2016.

Hattirsatha (Tirza) Verrips (Schoonrewoerd, 1945 - 2023) was a Dutch sculptor and installation artist. He designed many sculptures and projects for public spaces. In and around his old hometown of Apeldoorn, there are as many as 10, including the Monument 'Woeste Hoeve', 'De Dwangarbeider' and the Holocaust monument.
