This cycle route takes you through typical North Veluwe territory. You cross an area of beautiful forests and heathland. You also cycle right through the historic town of Harderwijk, an old Hanseatic city with a rich history and cultural heritage. On the boulevard, near the windmill, you will find a replica of the old botter wharf. Discover more Harderwijk history at the Eel Museum, where you will find out how eel is inextricably linked to this city.
Between Harderwijk and Ermelo, you cycle along the waters of the Wolderwijd. It is an area where many birds spend the winter. Sometimes you might even come across a flamingo! Cycle past the Ermelo sheepfold and discover the wooded surroundings of Veluwe villages such as Elspeet and Hierden. The beautiful surroundings of Leuvenum complete this cycle route.
