Hovius Bakery & Patisserie was founded in 1946 by Kees Hovius, who quickly developed the recipe for the Zuidlaarderbol. Although the company has not been in the hands of the Hovius family for years, this delicacy, famous in the region, is still prepared according to the same authentic recipe.

The pastry chef is a member of the Patisserie College, a guild of over one hundred independent pastry chefs in the Netherlands who are committed to craftsmanship and top quality. Members work exclusively with the best natural ingredients and develop unique recipes to create high-quality pastries.

You can find a spot in the inviting shop and enjoy a cup of coffee with a freshly baked delicacy. Hovius products are also available in various Jumbo supermarkets in the province of Groningen, so you can enjoy their traditional pastries at home.
