Discover the rich history and beautiful nature of Crown Domain Het Loo at Het Aardhuis Visitor Centre. Built in 1861 by order of King Willem III and originally a place for military gatherings, Het Aardhuis soon transformed into a hunting chalet under Prince Hendrik. His passion for hunting, game and forestry is still palpable. Thanks to Queen Juliana, Het Aardhuis was given a new role as an educational centre in 1972, a mission that continues to this day under King Willem Alexander.
Visit the free exhibition and let yourself be taken through three fascinating themes: the unique flora and fauna, the importance of management and conservation, and the invitation to explore the imposing estate. The Aardhuis offers a unique opportunity to explore the long-standing connection between the Oranges and this area. A day out that informs, inspires, and invites adventure in nature.
