Since 2018, you can find Gudzekop Brewery in Goïngarijp, Friesland. The brewers here make ‘craft beers’ authentically, but stand out with unique flavours and high quality.
What makes Gudzekop Brewery truly unique is that they do not shy away from incorporating typically Frisian products into their beer flavours. How about a triple with Frisian sugar bread, an IPA with Frisian rye bread or a quadruple with Frisian gingerbread? Of course, it collaborates with other local entrepreneurs.
The name Gudzekop is derived from a waterway between Goïngarijp and Sneek. The waterline can be recognised in the logo. You can also see the red beacon on the water, which can be seen from afar. The beacon is depicted on all crown caps.
To make the water play an even bigger role in the brewery, the beers are named with a nod to the nautical theme. Finally, beer mats have also been thought of: these are in the shape of the sword of the brewers' skûtsje, which they use as a “sailing tasting room”. If you book a sailing trip, you will sail on the Frisian lakes and the brewer, who is also the skipper, will tell you all about the beers.
