Groot Hoenlo Castle is a manor with a beautiful stately home. Over the years, the main building has been rebuilt several times, but the current façade was last rebuilt in 1897 and the tower in 1904. Several noble families have lived here. Writer Harry Mülisch also stayed here for a time. During that time, he wrote the book 'The Discovery of Heaven', in which he describes Groot Hoenlo as 'Groot Rechteren'.
Since 2001, the house and estate have been a protected national monument. You cannot enter Groot Hoenlo's park, but there are a number of public footpaths on the estate.
