Huisduinen is situated at one of the most beautiful spots along the Dutch coast. In what used to be the 'whalers village', you will find the largest brick fortress in the Netherlands: Fort Kijkduin. Follow in the footsteps of Napoleon Bonaparte and go exploring.
The fort is situated on the dividing line between the North Sea and the Wadden Sea and now houses a museum and the North Sea aquarium. A great place to interrupt your cycle route along the coast. You can visit the fortress or explore the surroundings. The fort is also a great place to start a cycling tour through the special nature in the area or along the military heritage. You can park your car for free and there are plenty of good overnight accommodation options close to the fort. When the weather is nice, enjoy the surroundings on the terrace with a panoramic view.
