Farm Het Vertrouwen (The Trust) - Akersloot
On the rural Verlengde Roemersdijk in Akersloot live Wendy's 125 cows. She built her dairy farm a short distance from where her grandfather once started his. The Trust has been certified organic since 2017. That means no fertilisers, no pesticides, organic concentrates, more barn space per cow and more grazing. Wendy also grows 10 hectares of clover herself.
The farm cannot be visited, but the cows are outside day and night, weather permitting. There you can see them grazing contentedly. When they want to be milked, they stroll to the barn, where they activate the milking robot themselves. In the milk taphouse you can buy raw milk, kefir and different kinds of Beemster cheese, all organic of course. To get there, cycle from junction 55 towards junction 56, via the atmospheric street Hoogegeest.
