The Engbertsdijksvenen is a beautiful natural area to get off your bike and take a walk around. Can you imagine that once half of the Netherlands was covered by raised bog? Over the years the peat has weakened and and partly disappeared, but the Forestry Commission has taken measures in this area to allow the peat to recover naturally.
