Here, at the former Weigh House, you will feast your eyes on all the specialised cheese-related items and objects. You will see old-fashioned cheese moulds, appropriate clothing, tools, machines and, of course, huge scales. You will learn about laws, regulations and taxes created for cheese making and trading. Sitting in a Rietveld chair, you watch commercials for cheese, in many languages, on a 1960s television. Spread across the museum's two floors, you will find high-quality art, obviously inspired by cheese. And don't forget the sublime building itself! Once a chapel with an oak barrel vault, it was converted into a weighing house for the cheese trade in the late 16th century. The 47-bell carillon in the tower still plays every Friday and Saturday!
