Originally a chapel stood on this site, which by the 15th century had grown into a cross basilica with beautiful vault paintings. This makes it one of the buildings that show the wealth of the Hanseatic League. In 1671, lightning struck the tower, causing the tower and organ to go up in flames. But the church has more stories: in the French era, soldiers stabled their horses in the choir and during the Second World War, people in hiding hid in the vaults. The church is no longer used for worship, but is rented out for events and parties, among other things. But even on the outside, the church with its striking yellow tower is well worth seeing.
