De Wieden visitor center - Sint Jansklooster
De Wieden visitor center is the ideal starting point for discovering the Wieden area and the Zwarte Meer (black lake) nature reserve. The wetland area is a great place for birds, but also for lapwing flowers, a rare bulb that cheerfully adorns the fields in the spring, especially along the Zwarte Meer (black lake) area. By mowing and grazing the riparian countries, Natuurmonumenten hopes that this special flower will be preserved. The Wieden area, known for its many bridges along and over the water, is wonderful for cycling.
