Kwade Hoek is a great place to observe seals. They are usually resting on a sandbank somewhere. There is no shortage of sandbanks along this coast, which used to be known as life-threatening for shipping.
The pattern of channels and banks, deep and shallow areas, beach and dunes is constantly changing. That means keeping a close eye on the water levels.
A walk that starts on dry terrain can cause wet feet on the way back. If you prepare for this, there is nothing to worry about. And otherwise, hiking here is extra exciting.
