The first sources mentioning 't Suideras date back to 1326. Almost nothing is known about the house that stood there then. The then owner was Henrick van Suderoes. Members of the Van Suderoes family continued to own the property until the 16th century. Afterwards, 't Suideras changed hands several times.
One notable owner was August Robbert van Heeckeren, who, as an Orangist, played a role in the turbulent struggle between the Patriots and the Sovereigns. The neighbourhood did not thank him for this. For most of the 20th century, female members of the Beerenbrouck family were the property's mistresses, which was very progressive at the time.
The present house was built in 1890-1891. Not on the site of the old house but next to it, whereby the old house was demolished at the same time as it was built. Both the inside and the outside are decorated in neo-Dutch Renaissance style. On the outside, a lot of natural stone can be seen, such as the soapstones and the decoration above the windows.
