Step back in time and discover the castle ruins in Valkenburg. Although the castle was destroyed in 1672, luckily much remains. Book a guided tour and discover all about the history of this imposing castle.
Underneath the ruins lies a system of corridors that leads to the Fluweelengrot, which was formed in the 11th or 12th century. This system of corridors gave the knights the opportunity to escape the castle unseen during battles, for example to replenish their supplies.
