Groeneveld is a classic country estate. Here the house, the outbuildings, the garden and the park are a tightly designed whole. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the farm located in front of the house only provided products for the residents and their guests. Around 1700, Andries Mamuchet acquired a simple homestead that his son converted into a house with allure.
Around 1730 the estate had grown into a beautiful entity with an orangery, coach house and gardener's house, while the park was praised for its design and planting. The brothers Bruno and Jan Lucas van der Dussen also spare no expense in embellishing Groeneveld. They provide the house with two semicircular wings. Groeneveld regularly changed hands until Agneta M.C. Taets van Amerongen-van Reenen sold it to the Forestry Commission in February 1940. The gardens of Groeneveld have often served as a backdrop for television series. The park will look familiar to the loyal fans of, for example, Pipo the Clown.
