This outdoor centre in De Groote Peel National Park, on the border of North Brabant and Limburg, is the visitor centre of the Dutch Forestry Commission. It is the ideal starting point for a day of experiencing nature, just 150 metres from one of the most beautiful spots in the National Park.
As a starting point for various walking and cycling routes, the visitor centre offers various maps, as well as binoculars, nature books, regional products and fun souvenirs. Families will enjoy the popular activity and discovery tours, which you can purchase at the information desk. This is also where you can sign up for various activities, such as guided excursions, evening walks and the Peel-Experience-the-Great-Outdoors Tour. The Gnome Trail comes highly recommended, with rave reviews such as this one: ‘A wonderful area for walking with a fantastic gnome trail/forest.’ Companies and organisations can visit the Peelboerderij, the greenest meeting and event location in Brabant.
Outdoor centre De Pelen attaches great importance to accessibility. There is a special wheelchair route through the nature reserve, so that everyone can enjoy nature. And recently, wheelchair users have been able to enjoy the impressive views from the new observation tower from their wheelchair!
