Boven Church - Kampen

N 52.5549827 / E 5.9201682

Kampen was already an important trading town in the late Middle Ages. The Boven Chuch was also built in this era, namely in the 12th century. This Gothic cross basilica had two predecessors, but not much is known about them. However, interesting historical architecture has surfaced during restorations and excavations.

The Boven Church has another name: the Saint Nicholas Church. Not only is its architecture impressive, the interior is at least as special. For instance, the church houses two organs, one of which has no fewer than 3,259 pipes. Historical tombs can also be admired.

Singing evenings, organ concerts and other events are regularly organised in this church. From May to October, you can visit the church from Monday to Saturday. For opening hours and more information, check the website.
