Eight elongated cones in silver and blue meet above the centre of a metal circular disc. Artist Lidy Blaauw was inspired by the Drentse horizon for this striking work Imponderabilia (everything immovable). She herself gives this explanation of the artwork: "In Drenthe, the horizon is straight or sloping, with vistas. In this artwork, the sloping line is depicted in the blue line with cones. The cone shapes face each other as if they are telling each other something. The cone shapes, the imaginary narrators and the sky reflect together in the polished ground plane of the sculpture. It is as if the old stories are reflected in the old landscape of Drenthe or vice versa."
Lidy Blaauw's works include many photographs, monumental spatial work and Installations with light and space. Light plays an important role in all her work. Her studio is located in Ruurlo.
