Ackerdijkse Plassen - Delfgauw
Between Rotterdam and Berkel and Rodenrijs lies the Ackerdijkse Plassen nature reserve. Several endangered bird species have found a safe habitat here, such as the white-backed gadwall, the lapwing and the cormorant. The egret is also regularly found here. To ensure peace and quiet, you cannot enter the area, but you can cycle around it.
On every first Saturday of the month, you can join an excursion. Another unique feature is the large colony of cormorants, which make quite a racket, especially when the young call for food.
