The Achterlandse Molen on the Molenkade in Groot-Ammers, municipality of Molenlanden, is a seesaw mill, type ground-sailer. Together with the Achtkante Molen and the Graaflandse Molen, it once operated the Ammers-Graafland polder. This mill was a gauge mill for the water board De Overwaard and had to take over the signal given by the Graaflandse Molen with its sails and pass it on to the Achtkante Molen.
The mill, built in 1596, lies in an idyllic spot between the Ammersche Boezem and the Achterlandse Wetering. The mill is still grinding and was made habitable in 1865. To this day, the mill is therefore inhabited.
