Tour The Farm | Oosterhout
Oosterhout, Dongen
This cycle route takes you from Brabant towns and villages into the farming landscape and past special farms. Get on your bike and go to the farm with us!
One of the highlights of this route is Sint Catharinadal. This monastery from the 14th century is now a beautifully restored abbey. It has a rich history and has been producing wine for centuries. Visit the beautiful garden and enjoy the peace and nature.
There is also a special farm on the monastery grounds: Zuivelboerderij De Driehoek. Here they produce cheese and other dairy products using traditional methods. Their speciality is red flora cheese. This cheese is ripened in the abbey cellars, unique in the Netherlands!
In 's Gravenmoer, you pass Orchard Lisboa, where you can enjoy the beautiful blossoms in spring and the delicious apples and pears in autumn. It is a lovely place to take a break and enjoy the view.
A little further on in De Moer, you can see the happy pigs of De Moerderij. Here, the pigs can roll around in the mud and be completely themselves. The farm shop is open every Saturday.
Cross the Wilhelminakanaal near Dongen and cycle to IJsboerderij Jacobushoeve. This should definitely not be missed on your route. Taste delicious home-made ice cream here, made from the milk of their own cows.
Cheese, meat, ice cream and fruit: this cycle route introduces you to farm life and regional products around Oosterhout!
Note: This cycle route goes through farmland as much as possible, but to reach all dismounting points you will have to pass a few stretches along a (busy) motorway.
