The Secret of Diepenheim
Diepenheim, Borculo, Gelselaar
If you ask a resident of Diepenheim what there is to see in Diepenheim, you will quickly come to one of the castles or manor houses. Yet there is much more beauty behind this little town, situated in the Hof van Twente. A visit to the three gardens of de vries is the secret of Diepenheim.
Artist and biologist herman de vries believes that there is no difference between things. That is why he does not write his name in capitals. This opinion is also reflected in the gardens, because he assumes that art cannot mean anything to nature, but herman says: "Nature is art in itself". In Diepenheim there are three gardens laid out by herman de vries, namely the winter,- lilac,- and butterfly garden. These gardens are all together. Close to these gardens you also find 'Het Gazebo van Diepenheim'. This is a hostel garden by artist Urbain Mulkers.
Of course, you can also visit the castles and manor houses in the vicinity of Diepenheim.
