Helmond, Gemert, Aarle-Rixtel
This cycling tour takes you through both city and village, along canals and streams, through farmlands and forests in the Land of the Peel in Brabant. You will experience the industrialisation of the region and discover the importance of the textile industry, which still plays a key role here.
Start your ride at Helmond Castle and cycle past large international textile manufacturers. Via the Zuid-Willemsvaart you will arrive in Aarle-Rixtel and continue your journey through nature reserves and the water gate ‘t Gulden Land, towards Gemert-Bakel.
Gemert Castle and ‘t Gulden Land are also excellent starting locations. Along the way you will pass two interesting museums where you can learn everything about crafts such as weaving, which have been practised here for centuries. Be surprised by the beautiful estates and castles, and read more about their history along the way.
And at the end of the trip? Then you will understand what makes this part of the Land of Peel so special, a force that ensures that the products from this region are distributed worldwide.

A visit to the Land of Peel is full of surprises. Come to the unique southeast of Brabant to walk on the boardwalks in the Groote Peel National Park, or cycle along the flowering heather of the Strabrechtse Heide.
