A leisurely tour of eastern Flevoland
Biddinghuizen
Flevoland is the youngest province in the Netherlands and consists largely of land reclaimed from the former IJsselmeer in the 20th century. The province was created by the reclamation of the Northeast Polder (1942), Eastern Flevoland (1957) and Southern Flevoland (1968). As a result, Flevoland is unique in its layout: the layout of towns and villages was largely designed in advance on the drawing board, with ample layout for housing, businesses and agriculture. Today, we explore the area around Biddinghuizen in Eastern Flevoland. Leaving aside the theme parks and event sites that Biddinghuizen is known for, we will seek the tranquillity that you can certainly find here too. You pass the Veluwe Lake, beaches, wide and green polder landscape and an occasional forest. And we selected some special Pitstops for you. These include climbing a huge Landart project, picking flowers in a picking garden and tapping milk on the farm. You will enjoy a surprisingly versatile day in the polder.
