Through charming rural villages with old churches and cozy village squares, you'll cycle towards Heeten. Did you know this village is centuries old? Archaeological finds indicate a large settlement of Germanic tribes from the 3rd and 4th centuries. So, you're cycling through genuine Germanic landscapes! Along the gently flowing waters of the Overijssel Canal, the route brings you back around. The quiet bike paths along the water are nearly car-free, making it perfect for a relaxed family outing. During this route, you'll pass by the delightful city farm Heerlijkheid De Linde, located on the outskirts of Deventer. There's plenty to explore here! Take a look at the cows and browse the farm shop, where you can buy all kinds of local delicacies. A perfect starting point for a fun day of cycling. Cycle along the Overijssel Canal, following it until you reach the Deventer district of Colmschate. Here, a few adventures await. Wander through the maze and search for small creatures and unique trees in the Tiny Forest. In the Butterfly City, you can hunt for the most colorful butterflies. All of this can be found across from the entrance to City Farm De Ulebelt, a fun and educational place in the Gooikerspark that's definitely worth a visit! Stroll along with the goats, chickens, pigs, and cows, or let loose in the nature playgrounds. Of course, you can also take a break with a drink here. This bike ride offers a perfect mix of nature, adventure, and relaxation for the whole family. A wonderful day out in the beautiful Salland region!
