Experience the beauty of the Drents-Friese Wold. With 6100 hectares, it is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. Cycle from sand drifts to fens and from heath to swamp. Unique is the Aekingerzand or 'De Kale Duinen'. The wind has free play here, allowing the sand to drift and creating a unique landscape. You drive through quaint and picturesque villages and pass three different watchtowers on the way. You might just come across the flock of sheep or come face to face with a group of Scottish Highlanders. Enjoy all the beauty!
