This tour takes you past the breathtaking beauty of the Lower Rhine, serene tranquillity and stunning scenery. From the starting point in Opheusden, you set off towards the Wageningen floodplains. With a cooling breeze from the water, you cross the Lower Rhine by ferry. You pass the Wageningen Geul, set in beautiful green surroundings. During your ride, you pass the imposing Roman Watchtower De Spees, a piece of history that takes you back to times long gone. This tower is a reminder of this region's Roman past and the Limes, a Roman defence line spanning the width of the Netherlands and beyond. You'll also pass by the impressive Hemmen Castle Garden. With its graceful paths, colourful flowers and historical ambiance, this is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings.
