Natural cycle route from Sneek to Alde Feanen
Sneek, Akkrum, Warten
On almost the entire route, you cycle along or over water. Not surprising in the water province of the Netherlands. As a result, you will also encounter a number of small ferries that provide variety on the route. Hop on board and experience a holiday feeling in your own country! Tip: Ask about sailing times in advance. Some ferries only sail in high season. Apart from the cities, villages and ferries, you will also see a lot of nature during this route. You will come across several bird-watching huts that are not just for bird-watching, you can also just enjoy the view. Cycle through the Alde Feanen National Park, a nature reserve with a lot of variety in landscapes and, of course, lots of water. Get wrapped up in the charm of beautiful Fryslân on this cycle route! Note: There are two ferries on this route, which sail from April until the end of September. Check the sailing times of the ferries before departure. In bad weather conditions, the ferries do not sail.
