Ruurlo, Lochem, Borculo
In the north of Achterhoek you will find the historic villages of Ruurlo, Lochem and Borculo. Along the way you can completely relax amidst the vast lands of this beautiful part of the Netherlands. Start at ease in Ruurlo at Lunchroom/Brasserie Lievestro. From there you can easily start the route Lievestro Landerijen. One of the most special eyecatchers is Ruurlo Castle. You can visit the building, which houses a museum, but you can also take a walk through the beautiful castle gardens. Lovers of buildings from the past cannot believe their luck: at country estate De Wiersse and further down at Huis Ampsen you will find imposing country houses. You will also regularly encounter windmills on this route. Continue through the vast meadows and past the old farmhouses to Lochem. In this village there are many attractions. Just the old center is nice to drive along. But... Watch out for the Witte Wieven! On the way to the cute village of Geesteren you pass by wine farm Kunneman, where you can pamper yourself while enjoying wine made in the Achterhoek. In Borculo there are several museums to visit. Or enjoy an ice cream at ice cream farm 't Dommerholt.
